National Commission For Minorities
Recently the National Commision for Minorities rescued the stranded Indians from Libya.
It was established under the National Commission for Minorities Act in 1992.
The six communities - Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis), and Jains are notified as minorities in India.
The body consists of a Chairperson, a Vice-Chairperson, and five members.
The Commision has all the powers of a civil court.
