National Anti-Leprosy Day (January 30)



Leprosy is a chronic disease caused by a bacillus, Mycobacterium Leprae.

 

Leprosy is also known as Hansen's disease.
 

India targets to eliminate the disease completely by the year 2027.
 

The theme of this year has been "Let us make Leprosy a history; Let us fight against Leprosy."
 

World Leprosy day was observed on January 29, 2023 with the theme "Act Now.End Leprosy"
