The Indian Railways has connected the main and longest tunnel of T-49.
The South portal of tunnel T-49 is located in the picturesque Sumber village at a distance of 45 km from district headquarters Ramban at an altitude of 1,200 metres.
The tunnel is 12.758km-long tunnel.
To facilitate construction of the longest tunnel, three adits — Urnihal Adit, Hingni Adit and Kundan Adit — have also been constructed.
It has surpassed the Peer Panjal tunnel of 11.2km length,which was constructed by USBRL on the Banihal-Qazigund section.
