International Mother Language Day

The International Mother Language Day was celebrated on February 21, 2023.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization celebrates 21st February as the International Mother Language Day.
It was the initiative of Bangladesh to introduce the idea of recognising such a day to UNESCO.
The theme for 2023 was " Multilingual education- a necessity to transform education".
The United Nations agency initiated the International decade of Indigenous Languages from 2022-2023.
