Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) is implemented by Department of Land Resources of Ministry of Rural Development.
India will receive ₹869 crore($115 million) loan for watershed management from World Bank.
The Government of India, the State Governments of Karnataka and Odisha and the World Bank have signed the agreement for the programme called ‘Rejuvenating Watersheds for Agricultural Resilience through Innovative Development Programme’.
India has one of the largest watershed management programmes in the world.
It is proposed as a 6 years project, from 2021 to 2026.
