Integrated Disease Surveillance Program



Integrated disease surveillance program was initiated in 2004, with the assistance of the World Bank.


The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is the ministry responsible. 


Its Central Surveillance Unit acquires data on disease outbreaks from the states on a weekly basis.


The program continues under the National Health Mission under the 12th five year plan.
