  • Facebook cheif Mark zuckerberg announced the parent company' name is being changed to "Meta".
 
  • The new name reflected its focus on building the metaverse.
 
  • The names of  the apps it builds- Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp - will remain same
