Shakuntala Choudhary was born on June 25, 1920, in Assam.
She joined Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust (KGNMT) in 1947.
She was a close associate of Vinayak Narahari 'Vinoba' Bhave.
The Government of India conferred the Padma Shri award for her works.
She has founded 'Asomiya Vishwa Nagari' in Devanagari which focuses on Gandhian ideal thoughts and spirituality.
She passed away on the age of 102 years on February 20,2022.
She was popularly known as Shakuntala baideo.
