CITES Database On Red Sanders Smuggling
CITES recent report states that 28 illegal exports of red sanders were reported in India in 2022.
Endemic to Eastern Ghats of India.
They grow in red soil and rocky fallow lands.
Hot and dry climate is suitable for their growth.
They are currently threatened and are rarely found only in a few spots of Andhra Pradesh.
They are categorized as “ENDANGERED” by IUCN and it comes under Schedule IV of the Wildlife Protection Act.
