Caste-based Census



  • The Andra Pradesh Cabinet on Thursday passed a resolution to request the central government to take up a caste-based censes of Backward Classes (BC) in the state as part of the 2021 national census
     
  • Census be conducted to "meet the interests and aspirants of the Backward Classes"
     
  • Earlier this month, the Telangana govenment, too, adopted a similar resolution in the state assembly
