Barda Wildlife Sanctuary



It is located in the state of Gujarat, and lies in the districts namely-Porbandar and Jamnagar.


Wildlife Institute of India (WII), the Gujarat government has planned to translocate 40 adult and sub-adult lions to this sanctuary. 


Ethnic races such as Maldharis, Bharvads, Rabaris and Gadhvis live in this region.


The sanctuary is known for its rich floral diversity and medicinal plants.


The major flora includes the Gorad, Babul, Dhav, Rayan, Ber, Jamun, Amli, Dhudhlo, Bamboo and the fauna includes the Sambar, Chital and Chinkara.
