China had recently proposed a medium-term and a long-term railway plan for the Tibet area.
The Aksai Chin railway line is a part of this plan.
The line will run till Pangong lake which will be very close to the Line of Actual Control.
The plan is to be completed by 2035.
Under the Tibet Area plan, China is to increase the railway connections of Tibet to 4000 km.
The new railway line is to pass through the India-Nepal border and also pass through China’s National Highway - G219 NH.
